Offered once every four to six weeks, this is the most unique intensive in Los Angeles. “It puts my actors on the fast track,” says Jentzen. “Everything taught here relates to something that the actor needs to achieve success in the business. “Actors must be realistic about the professional demands required to get the job and become equipped to deliver a strong performance that will create the buzz to build a career. My aim is to guide actors to inspired performances that will not only lead to career advancement but also infuse their personal development as artists.”
The Cold Reading Weekend Intensive covers it all: script basics, the rules of improvisation, monologue work
(hand-picked by Jentzen for each actor), cold reading technique as well as an orientation to “the business.” Each student develops a keen understanding of the different genres of acting including: film drama, period film drama, episodic drama, film comedy, situation comedy, sketch comedy and soap opera technique.
Kimberly Jentzen masterfully supports actors with tools in strengthening their presence, energy and fearlessness. Actors who are ready to grow will get two-and-a-half days filled with hands-on experience that will catapult them to their next level. Jentzen assesses each student's unique strengths and weaknesses and supports the skills needed to allow them to shine in the work.
This intense, fun, three-day workshop is a preliminary course often taken prior to jumping into one of Jentzen’s on-going classes.
